Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We try to anticipate questions you might have about our products and or services and provide the answers here. If you need additional information send email to wickedweavesnyc@gmail.com.

1.) What is the difference between single tracking and double tracking a sew in?

When tracks are doubled they are folded together and stitched onto the braid at the same time. In essence, two wefts are being sewn onto the foundation ie braid at the same time.  This technique is typically applied to speed up the installation process or to make the weave thicker.  When tracks are single they are sewn onto the foundation or the braid one weft at a time.  This allows for a flatter and more seamless weave.

2.) Do you take walk ins? How can I make an appointment?

We do take walk ins, but it's always best to make an appointment.

3.) How long does it take to install extensions?

Sew-ins can take anywhere from 1 and half hours to 3 and half hours.  The amount of time a person may spend on getting an install really depends on the braiding foundtion, the amount of bundles being installed, and the style being executed.

4.) How many bundles do I need to get a sew in?

You need at least 2 bundles.  When your bundles are 18' or longer you will need at least 3 bundles.

5.) What is the difference between a full head and a leave out?

Typically a full head is a sew in with either a closure or a frontal, a leave out or traditional sew in is when at least 2 or more bundles are installed without a closure or frontal. While hair is left out, it's very minimal.

6.) Are your stylists licensed?

Our stylists hold a cosmetology license.

7.) Do you sell hair extensions?

We sell hair extensions, full and partial lace front units and wigs, as well as customized wigs.  These wigs can also be installed.
